Dronninggårds Allé

The three villas
Architecture for vulnerable people

There architectural concept is to get the buildings as visually light as possible viewed from Dronninggårds Allé. This is done by moving part of secondary functions to the basement and therefore getting as little building as possible visually above ground. The building is broken into three smaller shapes, which is adapted to the surrounding neighborhoods scale in size and materiality.

The houses are humanistic and welcoming, partly by being adapted to the villa-scale and partly by welcoming its users with friendly and warm materials where the users meet the houses.

All the apartments are designed with materials which signal home instead of institution. A friendly home is created with clarified rooms and warm and light materials where the individual inhabitant can organize themselves with personal items and furniture which create the feeling of home for them.
